     The wedding ceremony with horsemen is one of the specific transition rituals of Rupea. The ritual consists of a series of complex and meaningful ritual acts, which draw in the whole community. The ceremony is made up of a number of moments meant to ensure the communication among the relatives to be, and the birth of a new family. 
     The main characters, the groom, the dolled up bride, the godparents, the ones who invite the guests, the standard bearer, the women who load up the dowry, they all have symbolic roles during the wedding ceremony, according to a traditional order in time and space. These rules indicate symbolic mechanisms that regulate the traditional mentality. Their purpose was the functioning and the survival of the rural community.
